      The Short Version: We collect your survey responses and location (state/district) to match you with politicians. We sell aggregated, anonymized district-level data (never individual data). You can delete your data anytime.

PartyLine ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website partyline.vote and related mobile applications. Our mission is to help voters understand how politicians actually vote on issues they care about.

3. How We Use Your Information

Provide the service: Match you with politicians based on your survey responses
Improve the product: Understand how people use PartyLine
Generate aggregated insights: Create district-level statistics (see Section 4)
Communicate with you: Send account-related emails (if you have an account)
Prevent fraud: Detect bots and duplicate submissions

4. Data Aggregation and Sale

      Important: We sell aggregated, anonymized data. We NEVER sell individual responses, and we NEVER share data that could identify you personally.
    

4.1 What We Sell

We sell district-level aggregate statistics to political campaigns, advocacy organizations, researchers, and media outlets. For example:

"68% of respondents in PA-04 support expanding healthcare access"
"Climate policy is the #2 priority issue in CA-12"

4.2 What We Never Sell

Individual survey responses
Email addresses or any contact information
Data from districts with fewer than 100 responses
Any data that could identify a specific person

4.3 Your Right to Opt Out

You can opt out of having your responses included in aggregated data sale. To opt out:

If you have an account: Go to Settings → Privacy → "Opt out of data aggregation"
If you don't have an account: Email us at privacy@partyline.vote with your request

Note: Opting out does not affect your ability to use PartyLine.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

Encryption in transit: All data transmitted using TLS 1.3
Encryption at rest: Database encrypted with AES-256
Access controls: Only authorized personnel can access raw data
IP hashing: We never store your raw IP address
Regular security reviews: We periodically audit our security practices

6. Your Rights

6.1 Right to Access

You can request a copy of all data we have about you. If you have an account, you can view this in Settings. Otherwise, email us at privacy@partyline.vote.

6.2 Right to Delete

You can request deletion of your data at any time:

If you have an account: Go to Settings → Delete Account
If you don't have an account: Email us at privacy@partyline.vote

We will delete your data within 30 days of your request. Note: We cannot delete data that has already been aggregated, as it no longer contains any individual information.

6.3 Right to Correction

You can update your survey responses at any time by retaking the survey.

6.4 California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:

Right to request deletion of your personal information
Right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

9. Children's Privacy

PartyLine is not intended for users under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@partyline.vote.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

Posting a notice on our website
Sending an email to account holders (for material changes)

Your continued use of PartyLine after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
